Google unveils Googlebook, an AI-native laptop line built around Gemini
Google has introduced Googlebook, a new line of laptops it says was designed from the ground up around Gemini. According to the announcement, the devices are meant to provide more personal and proactive AI assistance and are slated to launch in the fall.
Why it matters: A dedicated AI-first hardware line from Google would extend the company’s Gemini strategy beyond software and cloud services into personal computing. If the product gains traction, it could influence how laptop makers integrate assistants at the system level and intensify competition around AI-native consumer devices.
